I adore the sun, my sketchbooks, little things… you get it. Most of all, I adore people, community, and human connection.
Grateful you’re here!
I’m Jean :)
I am a curious, prolific designer with an infinite passion for all things creative. I’m currently pursuing a dual degree in Communication Design and Human-Computer Interaction, with a minor in Product Management, at Carnegie Mellon University.
Where I design from
Born in Shanghai, raised in Vancouver, and studying in Pittsburgh, my upbringing shapes how I approach design as a tool for connection, context, and care. I’ve worked across startups, corporate settings, research labs, and creative communities throughout North America and Asia, designing at vastly different scales and within very different ways of working.
At heart, I believe good design gives people space: to understand, to choose, and to feel. My work often begins with feeling, but is grounded in intention and logic. Every choice should have a reason for being there.
Designing across mediums
I think of technology as a material rather than a tool—something to shape, experiment with, and build through. I’m especially interested in AI, code, and emerging technologies, often building my own tools and systems as part of the design process. I design across brand, interaction, and digital experiences, moving between mediums depending on what an idea needs.
